How to Stay Healthy at a Convention if you're not down with OPG (Other Peoples Germs)

When convention season hits, you’ll want to be ready. For a productive and fabulous time no doubt, but more importantly, you’ll want to be prepared for the germs that fester despite the positive and pumped up "lets do this" vibes.

It’s all happy hours and swag until someone (you) needs the restroom – and I don’t need to tell you that that’s the last place you’ll want to be when your favorite speaker takes the stage.

Convention CoronoVirus Germs

Let’s start with that – we’re not trying to freak you out, but it’s good to know that one study found six out of ten Ultrasound Festival attendees had traces of fecal matter on their fingers (yes, you heard that right – six out of ten).

Horrifying, yes, but how can this be?

Well, thirty percent of people don’t wash their hands after using a public toilet and even those that do might not be washing properly. Eww.

Old wristbands are also sanctuaries for germs. One study found that old wristbands contained 20 times more bacteria than normal clothing, and while your current wristband is going nowhere so long as you want to keep partying, ditch the old ones that are still clinging to your wrists. coronavirus conventions festivals

That’s probably enough of the dirty details. You’re probably now wondering what to do about all this. Well, lucky for you it’s entirely possible to arm yourself so that you can network your heart out (health intact) long past the time the closing remarks.

1. Bring hand sanitizer

This one’s a no-brainer; keeping your digits clean is an obvious place to start. You’ll be touching a whole lot of grimy surfaces while you get your convention on. Rather than pray the wash stations are well stocked, take hand sanitization into your own hands (literally).

2. Boost your immune system

As sanitary as you try to be, there’s always a chance that a few little invaders will make it past your best defenses. Don’t freak out – the body has an immune system for this very reason. Strengthen that inner defense system by taking a daily dose of immune-boosting herbs and vitamins. This Fortify Formula is made up of ingredients proven to optimize your defenses (thank you Echinacea, vitamin D, and zinc!) so that you can keep on keepin’ on.

3. Stay hydrated and re energize

Water helps to deliver oxygen to your cells, working to keep all of your systems function efficiently. It also helps to rid the body of toxins (and prevents dehydration from one too many cocktails and too much sun-time). Stay hydrated as you play. You can also take specially concocted supplements like GlowJetter’s Energy Formula that fill you with vitality so that you can really give this festival all you’ve got.

4. Get some sleep (no, seriously)

Staying for multiple days? I hate to say it (because I know you might prefer to pull a good old fashioned all-nighter) but proper sleep plays a role in keeping your immune system in good shape. When the party won’t let you catch some z’s, insist on it by easing the body with our Sleep Formula packed with magnesium, melatonin, and relaxing herbs. You’ll thank us in the morning.
